Driving to Tokyo

Exit the base from the POL gate and proceed straight about 3 KM until you reach the Momoishi Toll road. It is the first overpass you will come to.
Turn left at the traffic light just prior to the overpass and you are on the entrance ramp to the toll road
You will pass through the Shimoda Toll Gate.
Pay the ¥150 toll and keep your receipt.
Just follow your nose for about 10 hours.
The Momoishi Toll Road becomes the Hachinohe Expressway which in turn merges with the Tohoku Expressway at KM marker 563.6.
The Tohoku Expressway goes all the way to Tokyo.
The KM Marker numbers will get lower as you get closer to Tokyo.

As you approach Tokyo, continue with the below instructions to get to your destination

Camp Zama

This gets confusing so pay attention.

Get off the Tohoku Expressway at Exit 2. This will put you on the Shuto Expressway, S1.
Follow S1 to the C2 Expressway; Get on the C2.
Follow C2 to the B Expressway; Get on the B.
Follow B Expressway to Expressway 11; get on 11.
Follow Expressway 11 to C1 Expressway; get on C1.
Follow Expressway C1 to Expressway 3; get on 3
Follow Expressway 3 to the Tomei Expressway; get on the Tomei.
Follow the Tomei Expressway to the Yokohama exit (route 16).
Take route 16 about 300 meters to route 246.¨ Turn left onto route 246.
Follow route 246 for about 9 KM.
Turn right and go about 4 KM to Camp Zama’s front gate.
