  • August 2001
    • Convened team to consider numerous ideas to develop Heritage Hall concept.
    • Selected three project managers.
    • Project managers created five committees.

  • September 2001
    • Preliminary location and design of Heritage Hall chosen and developed.
      • Hallway selected is 8' X 90' and is adjacent to LADYLOVE.
      • Project slowed somewhat following Sept 11 terrorist attacks on WTC/Pentagon.

  • October 2001
    • Project briefed to MCOC/CC (Col Dennis Mitzel) - location/design approved.
    • Project also briefed to the following:
      • NSGA/CC (CDR Jeff Proper).
      • Det 1, 403 MI Det/CC (Capt Tyran Welch).
      • 70 IW/CC (Col Harold Beatty) - applauded effort, "coined" three project managers, donated $50 (first donation to project).

  • November 2001
    • AF Form 332 delivered to 35 FW/CE.
      • Form outlines plan, requests 35 FW/CE provide estimate/contract for work.

  • Milestones
    • Create web site. (Done Dec 01)
    • Define key tasks for each committee. (Done Dec 01)
    • Develop Heritage Hall coin, mugs, t-shirts, hats; awards to contributors and use for continued cash flow to help fund future displays. (Dec 01) (Coins - done)
    • Develop pledge levels, recognize contributors, research tacx deductible status, private org. status. (Fund Raising Committee, Dec 01)
      • Platinum - $1,000 - certificate, coin, name on platinum board.
      • Gold - $500 - certificate, coin, name on gold board.
      • Silver - $250 - certificate, coin, name on silver board.
      • Bronze - $100 - certificate, coin, name on bronze board.
      • * Donor boards will be permanently displayed in Heritage Hall entrance.
    • Begin ceremony planning, research all past commanders, send personal invitations.
      • Invite all former Security Hill members via website/email. (Apr 02)
    • Complete AF Form 332 actions/refine construction estimate, begin work. (Jan - May 02)
    • Research cost of display cases, frames, pictures, etc (Jan 02); rough est: $15,000 (ordered $6K worth of cases on 16 April)
    • Appoint curator/historian for continuous Heritage hall success.
      • Continue to solicit and catalog incoming material, rotate displays, buiod "special" displays periodically. (TBD)
    • Tentative ribbon cutting date: 19 June 02. (Goal is to coincide with Col. Mitzel's change of command ceremony to save TDY/travel funds for visitors.

  • July 2002
    • 1 July 2002 Ribbon Cutting Ceremony; possibly coinciding with Col Mitzel's change-of-command ceremony.
