GETTING AROUND JAPAN

JAPAN RAILWAYS SYSTEMS JR East services the main island of Honshu from the Tokyo area northward. This is the area most traveled by folks in Misawa. Take the Shinkansen (Bullet train) to Tokyo and then find your way around the Tokyo area. The Aoimori Line services Misawa and connects with the JR East Shinkansen in Hachinohe.

HYPERDIA.com is a great resource for folks want to travel by air or train. After you click this link to open the site, click the "English" button on the left. Type in your city of origin and destination and click Search. On the next screen be sure to choose your mode of travel. The site does the rest.

Did you know that Misawa City has a bus service that goes all around town? For ¥100 you can ride all over town. The schedules are a little confusing but I have posted them and the route.
