Sgt Joseph Matejov: Trick 4 - '71-'72

The family of Sgt Joseph Matejov donated his footlocker for display in Heritage Hall, Matejov, a Misawa alumnist and one of the last U.S. servicemen to die in the Vietnam War, was killed in action when the EC-47 was shot down on 5 February 1973. Articles in the locker included letters , a dog tag, name tape, personal photographs, currency, a comb, and a bottle opener. Also displayed inside the locker lid is a copy of the letter sent by President Nixon to his parents notifying them of his death.

Hachinohe Horse
A 6920th ESG tradition was to have visiting dignitaries sign a "Hachinohe Horse" to document their time on Security Hill. Framed photos of various guests signing the horses adorn the upper shelves and the two large horses are prominently displayed on the bottom shelf.

Able and Dawg Jackets
Two donated flight jackets (6920th ESG Able Flight on the left and a Dawg Flight version on the right) are shown to exhibit the high levels of workcenter pride once displayed by members assigned to Security Hill. These jackets, normally mass purchased in Korea and sold to individuals, would be seen all over Misawa Air Base and in various parts of Misawa City.
