Driving instructions are in geographical order from Hachinone. Follow
these driving instructions to get you headed south out of Hachinohe. Then return and pick up the instructions below.
MIDORI:
The first campground you will approach after leaving Hachinohe is Midori. When approaching Kuji, go around several sharp curves and you will see a stop light. Turn left onto a by-pass road at the stoplight and look for a green sign that says "Kujo Road our of Kuji City". On this toead you will come to a stoplight and then a tunnel. Continue straight (still 45). From the tunnel, proceed about 22.5km south until you Fudai Ocean Center on your left. Continue 2.8 km further and around a curve. There will be a stone arc on the right. Turn here. Continue on this road until you come to the MIDORI and Green Village Campground. Either side of the fork will take you there.
FUDAI BEACH:
From Kuji city, follow route 45 south to Fudai Town. At the stoplight (a dead end), turn left. Proceed one block and turn right. Go under the railroad track and turn left at the fire station. Continue straight until the road deadends at FUDAI BEACH campground.
KUROSAKI:
From Fudai Town turn left at the stop light. Go one block and turn right, go under the railroad tracks and past the firestation and gas station. At the caution light, turn left. After 2km, you'll go through a tunnel. Continue straight for 6km more (four more tunnels). You will see a sign that says Fudai Kurosaki. The campground will be on the left.
KITAYAMAZAKI:
Kitayamazaki is 5km past Kurosaki on the same road.
RYUSENDO:
Ryusendo is further south than the previous 5 sites but further inland. From the Fudai instructions pick this up at Fudai. On Rt 45 in Fudai, you will come to a stoplight and there will be a gas station on the right. The next traffic light is the intersection with Rt 455. Turn right go 17km until you come to a stoplight. There will be a blue sign pointing to Ryusndo. Turn right and go 2.1km and turn left at a white sign. Cross a small bridge and you will see a parking lot and tennis courts. The camp site is beside the tennis courts.
They have decent showers, cabins and rental tents. The Ryusendo Caverns are within walking distance of the camp site. Driving time from Misawa is three and a half to four hours.
